On  24th February we enjoyed another great social morning. Most of the show and tell consisted of postcards. If you look under Members' Allbums in the right hand column of this blog, you'll see a heading Postcards. Click on that and you'll link to the postcard photos. To the left are a three photos of a few of the other items we saw.

After the general meeting Janet B lead us in a fabric paper workshop, which was very informative and lots of fun. One of us didn't follow instructions too well and had to try again at home. Ho hum! Here are some photos Janet took whilst we played.

Next week I hope everyone who participated will bring their finished pieces for us to see and I'll take photos for those of you who can't be there.

Wednesday Social Morning, 17th February, 2010.

The wet weather brought a large gathering of members together for a good social morning. Everyone was busy with something! To see what some people were up to, click on 'show and tell'. The above photo is of the front of Berl B's Fruit Salad postcard for Val K. Amongst the other photos in 'show and tell' you'll find a photo of the art she did on the back. Hope you enjoy taking a look at all the photos.

Postcard Play - February 12 at Ingham - with updated photo link

On Friday 12 February, 8 members of Fibres went to Ingham at the invitation of the “Friends of Hinchinbrook” to facilitate and take part in a postcard workshop swap.

We tea and coffee dyed in the microwave, and found out that tea leaves can be coloured with acrylic paint.

Seamstress Day - Thursday Feb 11

The sub-committee organizing this year’s NQ Patchwork Show and Tell, have decided that as there will be close to 400 visitors on this day, that Fibre’s Members, should wear an identifying scarf, which lets visitors know who they can approach with any questions. To this end the Seamstress group met to make scarves for everyone using the theme of lighthouses.

Teamed with a white blouse/top and dark slacks or skirt, we will be easily identifiable as a member of Fibres and Fabrics.

Wednesday Morning 10th February 2010.

It was a very humid day but that didn't deter a large, enthusiastic crowd getting together at the Farmhouse to enjoy a good morning.

Sharyn presented Show and Tell this week. There were a wonderful array of items, too many to post individually, so click here to see them all.
